About Me

I am Zuhaitz, specifically Zuhaitz Méndez Fernández de Aránguiz. My name, Zuhaitz, is Basque, and it means “tree”. As you could guess, I am Spanish. I am not living in Spain anymore though.

I am 20 years old, I got into Computer Engineering, then I dropped out. Not because of a Zuckerberg-like reason, I was pretty much stupid (and I also preferred to focus on FOSS and learning by myself, albeit I think I will go back to uni, when everything is stable). I have enjoyed those times though, and I have written some good code, and a lot of bad code too. I can stay for hours talking about C and its abstract machine, but I do not know how to reverse a binary tree. I know, I could learn it in an afternoon, but then I wouldn’t be able to say what I said. Also, it seems at least arbitrary, I prefer other topics (yes, now because I said this, I will have to learn how because an interviewer who actually reads this, yes, you, will tell me to write one now hmph). If you want to learn more about my code, just go to my GitHub.

I like to read, and write. I had a long list of stories, back then, but I deleted them: a practice that kinda reminds me of the Tibetan Mandalas. I might write books in the future, who knows. I do have some topics I would like to explore.

I did not want to get into Computer Engineering. I wanted to study Mathematics, or History. My parents did not like the latter, which I understand. Then I chose randomly, after a football match. It was either Mathematics, or Computer Engineering. I assume I don’t have to tell you what happened. I think I like C, not just because it is raw, but also because it has history. Yes, I never truly left my desire for history.

I like Fallout, Nintendo games, and any kind of music that is relaxing and usually +50 years old (did I say I am a Fallout fan?). I dislike, hmmm, slop. I definitely dislike slop. And flashy lights and bloat.

I think that is it. I might add more, I don’t know.
